Lady Raven Hair

She walked the faded backdrop
which she despised so much
And wrapped her clothes around her
but still was ice to touch

The street whispered the message
The raindrops asked her why
She tried to break the silence
But no one heard her cry

Her raven hair was soaking
as she reached her secret place
She sat and watched the embers die
but heat reached not her face

She thought about the words he spoke,
the way he never smiled,
the way his soul entwined with hers,
the way she felt defiled

She looked above at moon and tree
and saw her fears all melt,
for she knew something greater than
the things she'd thought he'd felt

She dared not smile and break the spell,
instead she slowly stood
and looked across at all the graves
because she knew she could

She reached into her pockets and
produced a single flower,
She turned it in her fingertips
and felt its awesome power

She walked slowly to his stone
and placed it where she should
and took a razor to her wrist
and ended it for good

She wanted to be with him,
he wanted it as well,
they wanted you to know it
so their story, I did tell

Now journey to her secret place,
the rain will lead you there,
and see him ever dancing
with his Lady Raven Hair
