Another Hostage
A tangle knots itself in my throat
before my thumb can reach the corner,
turn the page.

What I'm Trying To Say
I have to think;
get this in perspective,
sound out to myself -
hiss, spit if necessary,
focus, focus on the main issue
smoke two silk cut,
reach for a glass, the bottle.
Musn't get sidetracked,
all out of context,
topple (tipsy) off the main path
to letting this out - calmly. Calmly,
nice-as-you-like,
express myself clearly,
sincerely, say look,
this has gone further
than even I
could have expected;
round, round.
Shall we both
count to three now
and get off?
