Sebastian Rudko's synaesthetic paintings move between delicate free flowing washes and more hard edged virtuoso representations of the way vision can collapse into waves of light. He has a unique way of perceiving the way different sensory orders collide: bricks become clouds, leaves disappear into white light and a cathedral is distilled into a filmic strip of bright colours. He says he "attributes colour, texture, taste and smell to every situation".
