Jonathan Ridley has been an artist for as long as he can remember. "It started off with daubs of colour, pictures of soldiers shooting each other, and bubblegum factories." He says. A self taught artist Ridley hopes to explore complex notions of the human condition. "The world moves at such a fast pace and we pile things around ourselves, objects, fashions, sensibilities, trends, and material to try to fill the gap." Says Jonathan, adding, "I try in my paintings to get people to look in a mirror, and challenge their ideas about humanity and its place or pace in the world." Jonathan Ridley has exhibited across the South East and Brighton, UK, where he currently lives and works.
