There is a huge difference between Abstraction and pure Abstract. Here we see Haroulla Failakti creating imagery through the route of Abstraction. Processing traditional photography through the computer, he juxtaposes ‘real’ images with that of computer manipulation and regeneration, merging the two until he finds a balance in scale, form, and colour. Combining Abstracted form with recognisable and real forms found in nature results in these beautiful and striking large-scale works.
