With inspiration coming from both urban and rural settings, Jeanette Buckley paints the world as it feels. As an endlessly inquisitive artist, she uses the cities and countryiside of her northern home to find colours and patterns to create interesting artworks. In some paintings she cretaes figurative abstractions that capture the bohemian atmosphere of bottle-littered Amsterdam bars. In others it is the icy trees and low lying sun of a winter's scene; days when the air feels tight against your skin. Often, she moves into complete abstraction, creating sunswept, intense vibes that glisten with inner warmth. By using the key figures of 20th Century art as a starting point, Buckley creates warm and affecting works that would grace any room.
