Michael clay uses his art to express his own feelings of loss, hope and survival. Like many artists before him Clay’s art has become a very real form of self expression which helps him to confront his own sense of anxiety, fear and pain. Born out of need, his work - which often reflects an idea or emotion of the ‘spirit’- is driven by a personal and often cathartic desire to feel.
