This collection of limited edition giclee prints by Mike Nicoll are unashamedly erotic and voyeuristic. The female form is rendered in tumultuous wraps of gauzy cloth and there is a fascination evident for him in the curves of the female form but also the whole burlesque play of covering and uncovering. The play of the skin with its structure and fleshy forms is juxtaposed against the soft folds of cloth, reminiscent of Renaissance masters. So these are chiaroscuro nudes but with a contemporary sexual twist, where the muse herself revels in her own embodied sexuality, the prop of the knitted red jumper or white shirt, her writhing accompaniment.
