"Sally Bloete is a New York artist currently living in London. Her artwork deals with current political concerns and contemporary social issues. Bloete combines everyday experiences, news stories, advertisements, and the general barrage of input every city-dweller deals with, along with a frankness and sense of humor, to provide simple and direct insight into the ways we think and live. She strips her subject matter of the glamour,"spin", or gloss normally associated with it- whether it be an ad for women's razors, George W. Bush, or her own body- to issue a poignant, sometimes pointed, always humorous image of ourselves."
