'Contacting Venus' is one of a suite of images that play on movement within a static figure with colour. The colour & form relay the mood & character of the figure. 'Contacting Venus' is something that occurs within, making the connection out there - an inner and outer universe.

Artist's statement:

'These images are figures both ethereal solid,
figurative and abstract.
Each piece explores dimensions of colour.
A portrait of transformations through the manipulation of colour.
Through this the image becomes a means to explore aspects of the self.
Leaving behind an essence of the form,
like a hand or foot print.'
