Agamemnon  Otero

AGAMEMNON OTERO B.A., A.M.S., A.S.S

"The images & tones I work with all derive from natural phenomenon. Nature's bold colors & wild geometry guide my painting. My voyage is to distill the world around me. Painting the physical world gives me inspiration. I endeavor to create an immediate image that acknowledges beauty, as well as challenging that ideal. My style is to stay close to my subject, while invoking its energetic pulse. I am fascinated by the space in-between, the crack amidst the physical and metaphysical worlds we inhabit."

Otero, 30, endeavors to capture his subjects’ energetic pulse. His bold and immediate paintings connect with the impassioned spirit and painterly color saturation of Fauvism. His artworks are rendered in acrylic or oil on canvas. Agamemnon has exhibited and sold work in Great Britain, Western Europe, North and South America and has paintings in private and public collections.

Otero was born in Uruguay. He was raised in New York State, USA. He obtained his Associates Degree in Maths Science & Social Science from the mentor talented program at Rockland Community College, NY. There he was awarded Presidents Honors & became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, with a recognition for academic excellence. He continued his education with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence University, NY, with a concentration in pre-medicine, FINE ART & dance.

"I have undertaken commissions and sold work privately in the USA, Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, Switzerland & the UK. I have sold work privately & through art fairs for the past 4 years. Four of my larger paintings are on prominent display in the main atrium entrance hall of the Royal Edinburgh Infirmary. My work can be viewed in person by making arrangements through LondonArt"
