Artist statement:

My work represents more than just a beautiful image, my interest lies in capturing the natural environment.

Intent on revealing the force, power and harmony in nature, my work seeks to rouse the emotions and connect us with the beauty found in nature and envelope the energy and colour of landscapes, seascapes, skies and cityscapes.

My latest collection started in 2017, I have moved away from the natural patterns of nature and reflecting them in their own landscapes. This collection is inspired by The Elements - the ancient beliefs about the fundamental types of matter expressed in their classical forms as fire, earth, air, and water - also found in the ancient cultures in Egypt, Babylonia, Japan, Tibet, and India.

These have been executed using my knowledge acquired when studying the conservation of frescoes and wall paintings, specifically the chemistry behind binders and pigments. Using various additives and binders to apply the paints, plus an understanding of pigment weights and how they react to each other - results in some amazing effects!
I think these are beautiful and truly reflect the natural elements. I hope you love them!

I create large format images in sizes up to 6' x 4' which opens up a wide space for my audience to escape to and reflect upon, explore and transpose themselves.

The potential intensity of colour, luminosity and vibrancy particularly found in Wales makes it a joy and great challenge to work here. I continue to work on Welsh landscapes and the views in and around Wales. My recent work includes views of Monknash, Llansteffan, Three Cliffs, Penarth, Roath Park, and Cardiff Bay.
