Jean Langdon Hand-built coiled pots
The second pot in my collection, No.1, represents my first experiments in this medium, "fired" if I may say so, by the wish to make my own cooking pots for stews and casseroles. All my pots will withstand both winter frosts and moderate oven temperatures.
Today I find inspiration in vessels from the distant past - early Greek, Roman, Mycenaean, Chinese and South American. After all, clay pots have been made for many thousand of years, designed to contain grain, wine, and to serve for funeral and ritual purposes. So I prefer to try to put my own take on these wonderful forms rather than attempt to invent new shapes.
