1995-1998 London College of Printing, Ba (Hons) Graphic & Media Design
1994-1995 Camberwell College of Art, Foundation Studies
I was born in London in 1976, and studied art and design at Camberwell College of Art and the London College of Printing (both part of the London Institute).
After graduating in 1998 I went on to become a full-time graphic designer, and begun painting on a far more regular basis.
I have always had an interest in film and this has been a continual source of inspiration to me. My work is highly figurative, painting mainly from photographic stills of modern day film icons.
Film is an extremely polished way of looking at things, where all mistakes have been edited out. I try to take this one step further in my paintings. Although still maintaining a realistic image, all imperfections and blemishes are smoothed out, and instead colour is used to convey mood and atmosphere.
