I studied printmaking at Wolverhampton Polytechnic in the early 80's. Although it was primarily a Graphic Design Degree, I took the opportunity to specialise in printmaking as an illustration option. Since then I have worked as a freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator. This has enabled me to incorporate my printmaking skills and techniques within a commercial environment.
The images exhibited on LondonArt are created from a series of Collagraphs inspired by local landscapes. I then use these Collagraph prints as a starting point. Scanning sections into the computer, I use the latest image making software to layer and build my final compositions adding colours to the textures.
Several of the Collagraphs exhibited here are in a pure print form. A single print is taken and ink applied as in a monoprint process to create the final image.
