Mary Louise was born in New York but obtained her diploma at the Slade, specialising in printmaking under Anthony Gross. Then a French Government Scholarship took her to Paris where she developed her own colour etching technique. After successful exhibitions in Paris and London and teaching at various art colleges in England, she moved to Scotland in 1976 with her husband and two children. An associate of the Royal Society of Printmakers and specialist in Public Art, with five recent commissions to her credit, Mary Louise has found a new exhilaration in landscape painting made possible by her stays in Greece on Greek Government Scholarships and recent residencies at the Foundation Valparaiso in Spain. Mary louise has recently been made a fellow of the Royal Society of print makers and has received a millennium award commission to produce three mosaics in Scotland.
