Tina Ashton

Born in Wales back in the early sixties Tina remembers her love of sketching & painting being quashed when advised to pursue a more academic route. Despite a varied and interesting career Tina feels regret that she waited so long to pick up her passion once again, but at the age of 39 she returned to full-time education to study art & design and has never looked back since.

Working full-time now from her studio in Buckinghamshire Tina works on commissions for modern portraiture but also enjoys gathering a diverse collection of work, with asbtract and figurative paintings amongst them.

In this past year Tina has been exploring her love of all things Art Nouveau and has created a collection of abstract paintings inspired by her love of stained glass and the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The work has evolved from some abstract paintings she created earlier this year on the theme of fluids and their movement, and further inspired by long country walks this year in recovery from a major operation. More recently the work has now evolved into a series of semi-asbtract paintings of trees and the crisp, bold style of her earlier portraits is very evident in these new pieces.

Tina has sold work to private collectors across the UK, Europe and USA and the Far East and her paintings can be seen in regular exhibitions across the UK.
