I invite the viewer to recognise, interpret and possibly experience emotionl exhilaration, and become aware of my personal dialogue with the medium of oil paint in its boldest state.
My ideas continue to evolve and I am increasing intrigued by the fact that we all experience similar emotions, but would describe them in differing terms. My paintings are my interpretation.
In the making I create my own complicated ritual which is essential for the work to develop as I produce problems which I resolve one by one, during this process I make discoveries which are juxtaposed between experience and experimentation where eventually the painting takes on its own identity and ultimately dictates its own resolution.
The love of landscapes are a large part of my work where I make depictions from childhood recollections of panoramic skies the 'sensation' of being there, the sizzling stillness of a summers day and the horizon reaching so far into the distance it becomes alsmost invisible, these notions stay indelibly impressed withing my subconscious in abstract form.
