My manipulated photographs are concerned with finding the underlying atmosphere that places generate. Opening up the space by manipulating the photographs brings a sense of the essence of geographical locations, our influence on them, and their influence on us. I am interested in the dynamic between the self and the environment. These are the latest series, looking at seascapes and landscapes.
Since leaving Chelsea College of Art, where I was making literal abstract paintings, I became interested in how software can be used as an image-making tool in itself.
I can provide a set of prints of these photographs to show how they look printed, from the original large-scale files. I usually use SuperA3 paper, and the sizes on the Detail Sheet are of the images themselves.
