An accomplished and versatile artist with over 30 years experience - I have a BA Honours in Fine Art from Wolverhampton Polytechnic, and hold a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Concordia University, Montreal. I have exhibited widely in the UK and Canada, and have been a finalist for three years running in the Singer Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.
My artwork is a unique mixture of observation, interpretation and invention, and combines traditional painting techniques with modern digital technology. I produce work in acrylic or oils on canvas, photomontages and computer generated digital images. My pictures are rich in detail and often feature trompe l'oeil (illusionistic) effects. The images I create go beyond representation, so that the ordinary can become extraordinary whilst the impossible can seem strangely familiar.
My recent work has been inspired by the eroding cliffs of the Suffolk coastline.
I also undertake commissions.
I offer a unique concept in personally commissioned art – to have a portrait painted in the style of your favourite artist.
Working mostly in oils I skilfully reproduces the style and techniques of artists from Renaissance masters like Albrecht Durer to the pop art of Roy Lichtenstein. I can also take commisions for portraits of town or country houses.
For a unique, personal gift that will last for generations, contact Allan Williams for price quote (prices willdepend on the style and complexities of each commissioned painting).
