Margaret Steel works out of her gallery in DROM, a village situated in the ‘Revermont’ near Bourg en Bresse in eastern France.
Margaret Steel is an artist with a particular technique that she has made her own. She composes her pictures in pencil, adds a mesmerising texture of fine dots using a Rotring pen (nib 0.1mm) then finishes the picture with watercolour. The result is extremely realistic where her imagined situations, often tinged with humour, become so lifelike. Using this method each picture takes between 2 and 9 months to complete, depending on its size and complexity. Margaret has been working quietly for over 20 years and has a faithful clientele not only in France and Europe but throughout the world.
