Located in Kent in England, Julian paints a wide variety of subjects in a distinctive style, where strong use of colour and contrast predominate. Using both coarse and fine detail, paint applied by palette knife and brushwork, thickly applied paint and glazes, a variety of finishes are achieved.
Julian has undertaken commissioned portraits, and also worked on a series of famous faces and a number of nude studies. His wide variety of subject matter extends from wildlife and pet portraits to sailing ships and seascapes, and a favourite series includes city landscapes featuring the beautiful cities of Prague and Venice. Julian has sold paintings from galleries and shown in local exhibitions.
