Bjanka Kadic has worked as a professional photographer and artist since 1995 when she graduated in photography from Westminster University in London.
She specialises in contemporary images of architecture, still life and landscape. Her thematic preoccupations are those of time, history, and the way buildings, architectural detail, objects and, on a different scale, landscapes embody and, at the same time, shape ideas, events and peoples’ lives.
Aesthetically she veers towards clean and elegant lines that form almost minimalist compositions, or at other times she’s drawn buy the mood, the shadow, the hidden, the overlapping, the blurred, the unclear, the ambiguous, something that refuses to succumb to the clarity and objectivity of the camera lens. Either way, Bjanka’s work deals with fragile meanings, transiency and half-revealed, rather than with the solid objects.
