Nature. Psychedelia. Memories. Conscious vs. Subconscious. Dreams.
These are just a handful of the themes which are the stimuli behind my work. As a response to our natural desire for fantasy and escapism, they attempt to resuscitate a sense of naïve romantic wonder into our world.
I describe my current work as semi-abstract expressionism. I use a lot of spray paint as I enjoy the lack of control over the paint itself – the way it dribbles and runs and colours unintentionally merge together; it is a balance between intuition and intention, abstraction and figuration.
Since graduating from Loughborough University School of Art and Design with a Fine Art BA in 2006, I have continued to make and sell work.
