Gerard Byrne
Gerard Byrne was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1958. “Gerard Byrne is rapidly becoming one of Ireland’s most collectable contemporary artist. With his impressionistic, yet unique style, the viewer is invited to a world of colour warmth & calmness. A versatile artist with extraordinary talent with both architectural & landscape painting, as well as figurative & still life work, Byrne finds his subjects all over the globe; Paris, London, New York & of course his hometown of Dublin.” Liz Dunne, Irish Fine Art He is living and working in the beautiful area of Dalkey Village, County Dublin, where the stunning views are a constant source of inspiration. Gerard is a self-taught artist who cites his influences as Sean Scully, Van Gogh, Gaugin and Matisse. His media are oil and charcoal on canvas. Although he paints a wide variety of subjects, he has no particular preferences for any one type.
