Painting has been part of my life as long as I can remember. My painting is highly personal in that I paint because I feel that I have to, and I paint what I love to observe in the landscape around me.
I am fascinated by the changing light according to the season and the emotional response that I have to the beauty of my surroundings. I love to paint mists, cloudy skies, sunsets, rainbows, gardens and wildflowers - basically anything that stops me in my tracks and brings me to stillness and contemplation.
Although I use watercolours to make sketches in situ, I produce my finished paintings in my studio generally using oils. I love the flexibility offered by oils and use many different methods of application - from brushes and fingers to scrunched up cling film and old rags. Unless painted on a box canvas including painted edges, all my paintings can be supplied framed in painted wood frames.
I am currently accepting commissions for garden paintings using oils.
