I studied Fine Art Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London and graduated in 2000. My practice is now multi-disciplined and I work mainly with drawing, collage and photography. I work from a studio in South London and divide my time between creating artwork and teaching.
The focus of my art practice explores the value we invest in domestic spaces and possessions and how these can capture the passing of time and the layering of memory and experience. I am inspired by environments and objects that contain traces of history and simultaneously convey absence and presence. Often these spaces also contain a sense of mystery and the uncanny or obscure. My work investigates ideas of home and identity. I view interior spaces as physical, emotional and psychological spaces combined.
Over the past few years I have exhibited in a number of London based group shows including 'Together Again' at the Pumphouse Gallery; 'Circle' at the Henry Peacock Gallery; 'The Contemporary Print Show' at the Barbican Centre; 'National Print Exhibition' at the Mall Gallery and 'Salon des Graphiques' at Curwen Gallery. My work was also exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, Copenhagen and in a solo show at Gainsborough's House in Suffolk.
