Artists CV    artwork
Barbara Rawcliffe

I studied art on the Foundation course at Mander Collage, Bedford, then went on to do my degree in Fine art (painting) at Leicester Polytechnic in 1981, studying under visiting artists from the RCA such as Graham Crowley, Eileen Cooper and Stephen Farthing.
My concern is with the evocation of the landscape, not a direct representation but more to do with the recapturing of sensations and memories. the sense of place is important to me as a painter and I use paint to translate my own feelings and experience of that place. My work is a response to that moment in time and I use paint as a way of capturing that moment.
