Shahid loves the vibrant colours of nature and this reflect in his paintings. He is a doctor by profession and has been painting for the last 15 years. His paintings do not conform to any particular style and he loves to experiment with different styles even within the same painting pushing the boundries of convention each time.
He has travelled extensively around the world but his inspiration comes from changing weather and mood in beuatiful scenery of Scotland where he lives and work.
He likes to paint the sites and places he has visited and photographed capturing the mood of the place with imaginative use of colours and brush strokes. The examples are Red Square which shows the historic square on a rainy day and the St Ninian's Isle where he capture the beautiful and unique double sided beach on a warm sunny day.
He also likes to recreate famous paintings by old masters and have reproduced works by such masters as Poussin,Picasso, Watteu and Degas.
