STATEMENT
Born in the remote town of Esperance on the south coast of Australia, Justine was fortunate enough to be surrounded by the natural beauty of the rugged coastlines. Collections of natural found objects were to later strongly influence her choice of subject matter when she went on to study a BA in Photography, graduating in 1993. Since then she has worked extensively in the commercial and advertising industries in both Australia and London, moving permanently to the UK in 1998.
Justine’s images underline the grace and beauty of seemingly mundane everyday objects. Inspired by some of the most classical and memorable still-life photographers of the 20th century, she has developed a distinctive, delicate style. These images are part of an ongoing series of work exploring the beauty in life, the object in its most wonderful and uncomplicated form.
