| “I paint and draw in an attempt to interpret a view, a feeling or a memory of an event.”says Mei Yim Low, adding, “Much of my recent paintings are inspired by travel and the exhilaration of experiencing spectacular and unfamiliar landscape. When painting on location, the act of intense, silent observation provides greater opportunity to absorb the experience of time and place.” Low graduated with a Degree in Graphic Design from Kingston University in 1977. She subsequently worked as a children’s book Illustrator before dividing her time between teaching and painting. Her work has been published by Walker Books, Heinemann, Methuen, Blackie, BBC Enterprises, Oxford University Press and Ginn. She has exhibited her work across London where it is held in private collections. |
