A graduate of Chelsea School of Art, James Forrest says, "The statement behind the art is purely to create a thing of beauty". This straightforward approach is deceptively simple, for what is Beauty? We know it is in the eye of the beholder and yet art history is rife with theoreticians who would define this for us. His accomplished abstracts have an immediate, sensory hit whilst indexing a wealth of painting styles. Forrest knowingly plays with space and our preconceptions of pictorial narratives. See if you can spot the Nike "tick" !
