Mandy Kay

Kay's meditatively serene land and seascapes calm the spirit by reassuring and comforting the present. Containing the same beauty as the sight of earth from space, the artist paints gloriously textured work that blend harmonious colour schemes and reflections. The physical and philosophical image of the horizon re-accures in her work, as does the wondeful way that light enhances and changes colour. Kay's paintings would peacefully enhance any residential or business space, providing the buyer with an emotional investment that will payback for year to come.

Oscar Karababa

Oscar Karababa takes his inspiration from the human form. "I adore the curves and the softness of a women's body and subconsciously they appear in most of my work in one way or another". Oscar's use of digital media allows him to manipulate form in such a way that it creates environments that only hint at their original source. His use of earthy colours combined with a polished and glossy quality generates a feeling of plasticity, stretched and melting - as if we are seeing a millisecond in time.

Paul Kessling

Kessling is not just a landscape painter, although the rolling hills and fields where he lives are instantly recognisable in his beautiful pictures. He is a weatherman, fascinated by heat, sudden downpour, oncoming storms. He is a poet of the soft shifting light. His smallest paintings, not much bigger than a paperback, are condensed sonnets in praise of the sunset or dawn. But he also works on an epic scale, biblical weather travelling across paintings more than twenty feet square. Laura Cumming – Art Critic, The Observer.

Gudawer Kalirai

Gudawer Kalirai is in partnership with Jane Dorner who uses glass to make swirling colour gestures and to paint in light. Her technique allows the distortive qualities of the blowing, heating and shaping processes of glassmaking to add dynamism and depth. Gudawer’s work complements this by sensitively manipulating the colour, light and shape to reflect the already inherent interplay between intention and happenstance.

Jane starts with a pâte de verre embryo form made from a paste of coloured glass powders ‘painted’ into a pre-prepared plaster mould and then fired. The ‘canvas’ is opaline glass which gives a ghostly effect at the edges where the clear glass from the furnace interacts with the edge of the original. The embryo is picked up in the hotshop on a bubble of molten glass, encased in more glass, blown out and shaped.

Sharmina Karim

Born in Paris in 1971 of French and Sri Lankan origin, Sharmina Karim’s abstract paintings are influenced by both cultures. Texture is a guiding principle of her work. Allowing the images to evolve instinctively, Karim balances both textured and smooth surfaces along side matt and high gloss finishes. In doing so Sharmina Karim hopes to achieve a sense of flow, movement and transformation which parallels her own experiences and ethos of life. “In most of my work, I mix flowing and shifting shapes complemented by a geometrical precision which probably reflect my desire to attain perfection”. She says.
