Katherine  Lubar

Lubar's glowing effervescent paintings create optical illusions of light and shadow. Often taking us through three or four stages and divisions of reality, she exhibits her work across London and America where her work is held in private collections. "My work takes as its subject light and shadow. The shape of a light pattern and the "negative" space surrounding it combine and interact with each other to form a geometrically interesting composition. Unnatural colours are used to create the feeling of light hitting the eye and sometimes dark and light tones are used together to give the feeling that the painting itself "glows" with its own light." Nacho Lascaray

Nacho Lascaray has exhibited widely in Spain. He devotes his creative time developing the expressive qualities of materials not normally associated with painting. These include Sand, Concrete, Tar, Marble and Metal. Created on a horizontal surface, the works are usually on canvas or wood. The resulting forms have a simple, direct quality with distinct shapes. The use of materials such as burlap and varnish endow the work with further texture and raised surfaces. At times the images appear embossed and there is a strong interplay betwen positive and negative space within each composition. His use of industrial materials produces incredibly delicate, elegant artworks.

Joerg Lothmann

Joerg’s simplistic yet affective paintings would brighten up any room. We think they would be best seen hanging on a wall of contrasting primary colour, although admittedly they would look equally as effective on a more neutral background.

Rachel Lumsden

The desire to visually investigate and examine a concept or subject matter is the driving force behind all of Rachel Lumsden's work. This resolute desire to explore a range of concepts to some extent governs the nature of her work, yet its character and aesthetic is driven by an intrinsic intuition and a dedication and passion for paint - which will always underpin and unite all of Lumsden's work, from one series to the next. Rachel studied her MA at The Royal Academy School of Arts, London in the late nineties. Since then she has been awarded numerous scholarships and has won a number of significant Art Prizes. Rachel has work in private collections across Europe and currently lives and works in Switzerland

Sandra Laane

Working across media, Sandra Laane shows a variety of images that are always imaginative. Primarily showing works concerned with the female form, her ideas are manifested either in a highly graphic style or in a more tonal approach that conveys a strong sense of mood and atmosphere. Her use of different visual languages enables her to convey ideas of womanhood from the mythological, to outward appearance and as intensely felt from the inside, as a woman artist herself.

Pierre  Lamont Dingley

Here at LondonArt we appreciate any artist who can use a variety of styles and techniques to express their feelings on canvas. Pierre Lamont Dingley is one such artist, whose skill lies in his ability to create wonderfully detailed seascape paintings, vibrant abstracts and tribal inspired sculpture. In each medium he shows a truly gifted hand, whether it is in capturing the light bouncing off a wave or understanding the complimentary nature of his abstract colours. He uses a wonderfully wide array of painterly skills, showing his talent as a learned and practiced painter of the natural world. The same scene is painted in daytime and in the evening, exposing the artist’s understanding and handling of light. His seascapes are airy and varied, with brooding colours or wonderfully inviting horizons. Each canvas is a magnificently captured moment of time, space or thought and we are very pleased to be able to bring his work to a wider audience.

Peter Lancaster

Peter Lancaster's work can't be defined by a particular genre or style but instead is characterized by his use of cool blues, fiery reds and dry humour. Peter Lancaster's most recent series of works take there inspiration from the English language. Visually exploring cockney rhyming slang and or turns of phrase, Peter finds humour in the combination and association of words and their interpretations. Currently working on a series of paintings inspired by some of the great masters he aims not to copy but interpret …"In these paintings I am trying to view the world as if I was standing at the same spot as the artist but painting a world that has either been untouched by humans or that has been corrupted." Peter Lancaster has been painting professionally for over seven years and has exhibited his work in the UK.
