Constantin Majrowski

A firm believer in mastering his trade, Constantin Majrowski spent a number of years studying 17th and 18th century masters. Developing the craft of some of the greatest painters in art history gave Constantin the skill and confidence to begin developing his own style. Through his exploration in light, colour and form he began producing purely abstract works in oil on canvas. After studying his MA at the University of the Arts in Warsaw in 1979, Constantin has now been painting professionally for over twenty seven years and has work in private collections across Europe.

Ken Malson

Ken Malson is greatly influenced by the Cubist movement, the first of the great innovative movements in 20c painting. His ‘Bump and Run’ series of works clearly demonstrates this, with the flattening and interlocking of picture planes and compact composition of angular planes associated with the movement. However, although the influence is evident, Ken Malson’s own innovative colour pallet and contemporary subject matter adds a refreshing favorable twist.

Ian McCaughrean

Ian McCaughrean's seductive paintings depict a world of abundant colour, consumer goods and social freedom. The pictorial component as depicted by the central figurative picture, juxtaposed and surrounded by pure geometric abstract structure, highlights and explores the very nature of the aesthetic, ideal and associated theory. With these paintings the artist continues to explore the tension between pure abstraction and pictorial representation. Ian McCaughrean was born in Plymouth, England, in 1963 and now lives and works in South London. After studying a degree in Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art he then went on to study an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art. Ian McCaughrean RCA has been painting for over twenty five years and has taken part in many group and solo exhibitions. McCaughrean has works in private and public collections across the UK and abroad.

Janet C. Moses

Janet Moses is a Malaysian Artist who now lives and works in London. Although Janet works on conventional stretched canvas, she is constantly experimenting with a variety of mediums to create her desired surface texture and form. In this latest series of works her works are invitations to find quiet among noise and bustle, peaceful places on the canvas where the eye and the mind can rest. The layers reflect the dense jungle undergrowth of Malaysia where I was raised; the colours are sunlight and the shadows are the dank and the dark under the forest canopy. Layers take on new forms, writhing and shifting until finding their place on the canvas. When you seek life and colour and movement, you can find it. Seek peace and it is there but you must search for it. She participated in a group show in Espacio Gallery, Shoreditch recently and her latest work is also in exhibition around Cambridge & Southampton.

Tadeusz Machowski

Tadeusz Machowski was born in 1955 in Lancut, Poland. Originally a landscape painter his work has become progressively abstract in nature and now holds little reference to reality. Inspired by early twentieth century art, Tadeusz finds inspiration from abstract expressionism of the mid 1940’s. The art movement had an immeasurable influence on the many varieties of work that followed it, especially in the way its artists used color and materials. Machowski’s works hope to capture some of the energy and excitement of the movement, yet strive to reflect his own sense and vision of reality within a contemporary context. Tadeusz Machowski has works in private collections across the USA and the EU.

Marco Magnani

For those who like their art to be imaginative, visionary or comic, then look no further than the paintings of Marco Magnani. Surreal and illustrative of what are at times strange, sometimes sexual narratives; his paintings are confidently executed in watercolour on paper but occasionally in oils. The subject matter appears to arise from the depths of his imagination but references are made also to literature such as Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland' or Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' which inspired the 1922 film 'Nosferatu'. Reflecting an interest in nature spirits and female sexuality, his images are both mythical and memorable.

Sally Maltby

These accomplished images, inspired by the variety of texture in geological cliff formations, are sensitively rendered in gouache and watercolour. Sally's unique approach is both representational in that it resembles the subject matter, yet abstract in that it refers to different ways of apprehending the land such as Ordnance Survey contour maps. The chequered effect also brings to mind more scientific visions on graph paper and fossils embedded therein.
