Cornelia Brand

The powerful combination of elements in Cornelia Brand's working life provides her with a didactic fusion of subject, content and emotion. As a police woman living and working in South Africa, Cornelia Brand's paintings are inspired by "… the changes that took place in South Africa and in my life, since democracy". Through her use of vibrant colour, Brand hopes to reflect the "multifaceted nation", where she lives. "My paintings are a reflection of my complex personality and adds meaning to my life and color to those of other" She says.

Duncan Brannan

Duncan Brannan graduated from Kent University in 2007 with a First Class degree in Fine Art. Brannan explains how he explores his ideas of, “romantic, modernist, holistic ideals fit in a nihilistic, post-modern, multi-cultural society. Structure, order and chaos are counter pointed in the dialectics of the grid. The historical context of de Stijl is evident; its utopian idealism, use of the grid and reductive aesthetic are evoked in this attempt to build the reduced grid back up again with a language that is aware of post modernity whilst keying into modernist ideas.”

Barbora Brezakova

Unusually, Barbara Brezakova shows a male figure standing, looking at her work. By choosing this representation, she indicates that her work is involved with decipherment. Barbara investigates the character and levels of understanding of abstract language. She says, " It indicates a primary level of communication – in my case searching for new visual narratives but also axiomatic stability. Also the essential element is mark which sometimes operates as the existential “here I am” and reflects the levels of life enthusiasm. " She seeks to record the intensity of life's experience. Indeed, the man's observation of visceral red disgorging out of an area of neutrality functions to convey her preoccupation with internal life, vulnerability and the transparency of the human condition.

Brian Brooks

Brian Brooks has been exhibiting internationally since the 1970's with work held in private and public collections throughout Europe, the USA and Latin America. Brian has a natural talent for translating the visual world onto a two-dimensional picture plane. Utilising digital technology and computer software, his paintings use photography as a point of reference rather than a tool for direct imitation. His integral understanding of colour and perspective equals his command for pattern and repetition with an elegant and refined painting technique.

Daniel Bulimar Henciu

With a realist’s eye for detail and an impressionistic handling of light, this wonderful Romanian artist paints scenes that glow with vitality and delight. This is a world of dreaming ballerinas and dancing brides, a place where the sun always shines and spring has always sprung. Look closely at the wonderful blossom buds and allow the images to tell you tales of temperate, happy days. Unashamedly nostalgic, these are pictures to warm the hearts of any viewer. Be sure to think of this artist if you are interested in family portraits as his work is of a demonstrably high standard.
