Barbora Brezakova

Unusually, Barbara Brezakova shows a male figure standing, looking at her work. By choosing this representation, she indicates that her work is involved with decipherment. Barbara investigates the character and levels of understanding of abstract language. She says, " It indicates a primary level of communication – in my case searching for new visual narratives but also axiomatic stability. Also the essential element is mark which sometimes operates as the existential “here I am” and reflects the levels of life enthusiasm. " She seeks to record the intensity of life's experience. Indeed, the man's observation of visceral red disgorging out of an area of neutrality functions to convey her preoccupation with internal life, vulnerability and the transparency of the human condition.

Brian Brooks

Brian Brooks has been exhibiting internationally since the 1970's with work held in private and public collections throughout Europe, the USA and Latin America. Brian has a natural talent for translating the visual world onto a two-dimensional picture plane. Utilising digital technology and computer software, his paintings use photography as a point of reference rather than a tool for direct imitation. His integral understanding of colour and perspective equals his command for pattern and repetition with an elegant and refined painting technique.

Helen Brown

Derek Mitchell loves paint and the physical act of painting. Essentially an abstract painter, Derek applies the paint to the canvas with an energy and speed that fundamentally impassions all his work.

Jeanette Buckley

With inspiration coming from both urban and rural settings, Jeanette Buckley paints the world as it feels. As an endlessly inquisitive artist, she uses the cities and countryiside of her northern home to find colours and patterns to create interesting artworks. In some paintings she cretaes figurative abstractions that capture the bohemian atmosphere of bottle-littered Amsterdam bars. In others it is the icy trees and low lying sun of a winter's scene; days when the air feels tight against your skin. Often, she moves into complete abstraction, creating sunswept, intense vibes that glisten with inner warmth. By using the key figures of 20th Century art as a starting point, Buckley creates warm and affecting works that would grace any room.

She now lives and works in London.

Karolee Bulak

Karolee Bulak positively refuses to comment on her pictures but instead prefers us to come to our own conclusions on content and intention. Personally I’m quite happy too simply enjoy them on face value.

Lesley Cale

Lesly Cale just, " loves to paint". A self confessed, self taught artist Lesley began by exploring the technical and emotive properties of paint in her abstract compositions. "I first started with abstracts…the novelty is in the discovery, as the paint flows and is manipulated (it's like playtime for grown-ups) a picture forms that no two people view the same…" After completing a series of landscape paintings, from Stormy Cove to Giant Wave, she is presently focusing her impressive skills on a series of portrait paintings.

Delicate and meticulous, Carballa’s crisp but gentle colour and light calm our senses by allowing our thoughts to slowly travelaround the whole of the painting.
