Mandy Ingram

Mandy Ingram's paintings reflect both a sense of fragility, and strength with equal allure. "My work is a result of a journey through which I have been exploring the perception of 'landscape." She says, adding, "I deal with the subtleties of surface, depth, texture and light which is cultivated from an emotional response to visual memory." Using intense and complex combinations of colour, Mandy Ingram's contemplative and reflective approach to painting creates landscapes which are powerfully emotive and markedly poignant. Since graduating from university with a BA(Hons)Fine Art Mandy has worked as a teacher of art and photography and has also undertaken environmental art based projects and commissions.

Neil Irani

An urban commuter aesthetic is suggested by these cool, graphic prints that have a pared down, succinct language. They tell necessarily short stories in visual soundbites for people used to being on the move. Witty and iconic, they employ motifs associated with life in the London metropolis such as the tube sign and a silhouetted O2 arena, Juxtaposing elements such as old, red telephone boxes together with the bowler hat, one is reminded of the puns of Rene Magritte. The Spitfire that looks back at us continues this Surrealist theme.
