Van Renselar

As an abstract artist Van Renselar is more concerned with form and colour as an alternative to subject matter. It is not his aim to represent our surroundings or any particular object, he takes ideas from experiences which are visual, cerebral and emotional in nature. His inspiration can as easily be sparked by lines from a song as by an emotional event. Colour is equally as important as the general design and he will spend a lot of time perfecting the tone of a particular colour, his primary objectives being to establish harmony both in terms of composition and the use of colour. Van Renselar grew up in South Wales and London, where he now lives and works.

Michael Ribeiro

Michael Ribeiro was born in Cape Town, South Africa where he studied Painting and the History of Art. Currently living and working in London he finds his inspiration in, ‘the contradictions of the complex urban environment.’ He says, “I really like the way a painting made in oil on canvas contains time, memory, sensory experience and mostly the process of thinking. I also like the way the surface of paintings stroke the eye similar to the way a touch at the base of the spine seems to lead directly to the brain.”

Hanneke Robson

From the texture of bark and rusting ship hulls, to battlefields and d-day beaches, Hanneke Robson's colour photographs remind us all of the beauty found in nature. The quality of her photography is of such an exceptionally high standard, the sharpness of the image and the composition and balance of light within each work, that on occasion her work has an almost illusionary quality to it, as if we are looking at an enhanced form of nature.

Dariusz Romanowski

“One of my chief concerns is attempting to make idea and technique inseparable. Painting in this sense tends towards a complete interlocking of image and paint, so that the image becomes the paint and vice versa” says Dariusz Romanowski. A painters painter, Romanowski believes that the “brushstrokes create the form and not merely fill it in.” His paintings in every detail recreate “…a particular sensation with renewed poignancy in the desire to live through it again with a different kind of intensity.” Romanowski’s own talent coupled with his desire to create work of a higher and timeless quality transports both him and his work into the realms of greatness.
