Catherine  Graham

Catherine Graham lives and works in the seaside town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. Working in Acrylic on canvas, Catherine produces these wonderful abstract paintings inspired by her surrounding landscape. 'Through my work I explore the architecture of my surroundings. The canvas frame of reference allows me the ability to edit what I see into the horizontal and vertical. Therefore giving me the ability to idealise my surroundings through formalism. Interior spaces have cubic depth and play against the flatness of pattern through line. This play, also realised through colour and tone, provokes memory and association. I seek a universal language connected to spaces in which we have dreamed and imagined. Aspects of the interior are often metaphors for psychological processes.'

Olga Gal

Originally trained as a ceramicist, Olga now translates those 3 dimensional skills on to a 2 dimensional plane. Strong and powerful imagery is combined with equally fervent washes of deep earthy colours, often juxtaposing figurative imagery with bold yet soft blocks of colour. Using an essentially geometric structure she produces some well balanced and well executed paintings.

Irma Gelantia

Georgian artist Irma Gelantia studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art, graduating from the Faculty of Monumental-Decorative Painting in 2004. Her surrealist images draw on symbols of history, power and the unconscious. Her forms imply a sense of fluidity and freedom sometimes contrasting with the themes they represent, suggesting a dreamlike escape from a troublesome reality. Her traditional still life paintings exhibit her training and high level of skill that underpins the surrealist works and an understanding of the art historical remit for this form, to celebrate the material pleasures of her subjects. From this she departs to the ephemeral representations of her more stylized works.

Vincentas Titas Gimzunas

Vincentas presents paintings with a wide range of styles. From naturalistic still life to gestural abstract markmaking; from Surrealist landscape to psychedelic portrait. He is equally at home with each genre. The common factor is that all are oils on canvas. 'The Rag on a Doorpost' is particularly appealing in that here, he manages to infuse the seemingly realistic appearance of an everyday thing with a surreal twist. The shadows are atmospheric and the simple piece of cloth itself comes to life. In luminous lapis blue it is suggestive of the folds of Renaissance drapery. Achieving a thorough investigation of a humble moment, he invests it with a solemn grace.

Ellie Good

In these paintings faceless portraits drift through their thoughts over glasses of white wine. The pale palette creates a dreamy, feminine atmosphere, befitting of its subjects. Ellie Good is the talented North London painter who creates minimal scenes of figures writing in front of orchids or enjoying the bliss of the weekend. Body shapes are mixed with abstract backgrounds to create paintings that are alive with feeling and ambience. She paints intriguing scenarios of characters with questionable, complex motives. This is thoughtful art for lovers of subtlety and form.
