Agata Baltyzar

There is something mesmerising yet at the same time distinctly haunting about Agata Baltyzar's unique paintings. The hazy, painterly technique she employs confers a Romanticism about life in the shadows of vast Modernist concrete forms and on rain drenched plazas. This softer approach mutes harsh reality, rendering it more palatable and visible, not overlooked or avoided. Nevertheless, her focus on the relationships between anonymous figures living or lost amongst this forbidding architecture is important. It emphasises a sense of pathos instead of the usual apolitical emphasis on style, thus appealing to the audience for empathy.

Maria Cristina BARACCHI

Italian artist Maria Cristina Baracchi studied Fine Art at the Institute Adolfo Venturi in her home town of Modena. At the same time she worked as a fashion designer and stylist for the family business and over the years has developed a great sensitivity to the human body and figurative style. Baracchi cites her bohemian upbringing as her main inspiration: she was trained as a little girl by her grandfather Leopold Baracchi (painter, sculptor and musician; 1905-1972) to detect imperfections in the paintings he was making. Around the same age she developed a passion for ballet and music and would endlessly paint dancers and performers. Since 2005 Baracchi has been able to devote all her energies to painting. She exhibits all over Italy and has a number of portraits in private collections.

Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont

Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont's unmistakable style is developed from an interest in distorted perspective and reflection. Many of her earlier works are autobiographical, taking themes from family and childhood. Born in London in 1969 and graduating in 1991 with a Fine Art Honours Degree (first class in painting), Beaumont began her professional career as an artist working to commission in the government and corporate sectors, executing large-scale murals and commemorative paintings. In the 1990s Beaumont was commissioned to design a series of postcards in collaboration with the British Post Office to coincide with philatelic launches. In 2000 she was elected to the Executive Committees of the National Acrylic Painters' Association (NAPA) and the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers (NS). She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Beaumont's works are held in private collections in Great Britain, France, Germany, USA, Canada and Australia and have been exhibited across London.

Paul Beel

Paul Beel is a very successful and prolific American painter currently living in Italy. His portraits are intensely worked and he has an amazing skill at capturing a true likeness of the sitter. But what marks Paul apart, is that he is able to use his considerable abilities to create imaginative settings which are truly immersive adding emotional depth, as did the great portrait painter Holbein. More recently, Paul has been taking risks with his practice, challenging himself by working from sitters at the other end of a Skype connection, making fresh works which are immediate and of their time.
