Armine Bozhko

Using thick impasto oil paint, Armine Bozhko uses colour and form to essentially build geometric figurative compositions. Predominantly painting in red and blue hues of opaque geometric form, Bozhko creates a sense of richness and depth within each painting. By a subtle change in colour or the addition of a curve or sweeping line, she highlights the representational subject within the canvas, yet forces our eyes to travel across the whole of the canvas. Currently living in Kyiv, Ukraine, Armine Bozhko has exhibited across Europe and has works in private collections across the Ukraine.

Duncan Brannan

Duncan Brannan graduated from Kent University in 2007 with a First Class degree in Fine Art. Brannan explains how he explores his ideas of, “romantic, modernist, holistic ideals fit in a nihilistic, post-modern, multi-cultural society. Structure, order and chaos are counter pointed in the dialectics of the grid. The historical context of de Stijl is evident; its utopian idealism, use of the grid and reductive aesthetic are evoked in this attempt to build the reduced grid back up again with a language that is aware of post modernity whilst keying into modernist ideas.”

Nicky Bray

Nicky Bray finds her inspiration from the human form and the way in which the skin visually reflects and documents our lives. Exploring the human obsession of self image, her work hopes to capture the details, the seductive curves, creases, textures and imperfections of our body, that help expose our inner selves. Using moulds taken directly from life, her work relies on the meticulous casting process and the ethereal quality of her chosen materials to nurture the idea of sensuality and intrigue.

Maria Bressanello

Richly coloured oil paintings of bulls pondering the silence or just watching you watching them. This is starkly Latino work. Argentinian born Bressanello uses bulls, clown and humans as her subjectss and creates the surreal atmosphere of the shadows in an alternate view of natural life. She paints heavily passionate scenes of weeping lovers, alone or embracing, as well as animals considering their own reflections. She creates a series of outline sketches of human figures on deep red and black backgrounds which reduce the human form to its most elemental parts. Brassanello paints and teaches out of her studio in Beunos Aires and we are delighted to bring her work to a UK audience.
