Edwina  Hannam

Edwina Hannam completed an MA in Illustartion from Central St Martins in 2005. Working in parallel on both her illustration and painting she has found that both disciplines feed the other. “Being trained in Illustration has taught me to observe detail, to recognise the aesthetics of space and how this translates to the paper or canvas.” she says. “I paint in a very detailed, realistic style but always try to add a talking point, an element of disquiet.” Edwina Hannam has recently exhibited her work in the Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition which was held at the Mall Galleries, London.

Patsy Hardiman

Hardiman's images transcend beyond the boundaries of her canvas's. The arrangement of line and form suggests that what we are viewing is a 'fraction of the bigger picture'. Hardimans ability to recreate a sense of atmosphere comes from the familiarity with the objects and enviroments depicted.

Veronica Harris

Veronica Harris Veronica Harris’s cubist style paintings in oil and acrylic remove a coherent sense of depth to create a shallow ambiguous space. Her representations of the human form and portraits have a stark power and arresting simplicity, figures interplay, symbolic images and expressive marks crowd the darker canvasses. Her Fauve like use of colour creates an energetic dissonance, expression dominates over detail with flat shapes, blocks of colour and controlled lines. Abstract forms reference African tribal art in mural like compositions.

David Harris

At first sight, the strong colours and geometric shapes of these digital images appear to be modern - day yantras, which exert a powerful retinal pull. Combining western sci-fi influences both in form and their ironic, labyrinthine titles, they are redolent of the mysterious narratives of Borges. Operating on so many formal and imaginative levels, their use of repetition, diffraction and endless movement create eruptions of intense colour, which are nevertheless both wistful and somehow haunting. These works leave an after effect both in the eye and the mind.
