Marcia Mar

The work of Marcia Mar is vibrant and full of life, made up of dancing atoms and pulsating brushstrokes. She uses a variety of mixed media applied with a scumbling, dry paint method to form the image. Sometimes the paint is applied in what is almost a pointillist or aboriginal dotting approach. The work has a tribal feel to it and is a mixture of both the figurative and the abstract. The restricted colour palette, creates emphasis on the pattern and magical trance-like content of the images.

Yvonne Marko

Yvonne Marko is a figurative artist specializing in oil on canvas. Using photography as her starting point, Yvonne often uses the computer to combine and manipulate a range of imagery. The immediacy of this technique enables her to explore and expand her ideas in more depth before she even begins to apply them onto the canvas. Finding particular fascination in medieval imagery and symbolism, Yvonne uses pre determined colour and combinations of, often cool blues and earthy yellows, to help give insight into the human condition. After completing a foundation course and attending life drawing classes, Yvonne went on to study Art History.

Klaudiusz Maselewski

Klaudiusz is a Polish artist whose oil paintings on canvas combine realistic observation of people with fantasy and pattern. "Tree" is informed by Early European Modernism and could also be seen as being directly inspired by Mondrian's "Tree", which was an early experiment in abstraction from nature. Maselewski presents the artist here as a male nude, palette and brush in hand. Heroic yes, but also, possibly his own muse. He is lit by "the blues" of his own painting against a Cezanne-like background, which alternates between flat geometric planes and landscape moulded by colour

Natalie Matthews

DOGS!!! Our canine companions have inspired love and friendship from humankind since the earliest times. Artists as far back as Stubbs have drawn inspiration from their varied forms. Natalie Matthews has found a way of converting this deeply embedded sense of companionship into paint to create a series of portraits that are totally endearing. Her direct, confident approach, painting mostly without background or on a pared down, neutral ground, endows them with an expressive fluidity that is somehow extremely fashionable and contemporaneous.
