Brian Shepherd

Brain Shepherd finds true beauty in the urban landscape. “A love of urban architecture and an abiding interest in popular culture inspires much of my work.” In the true sense of the genre, Shepherd’s choice of colours and textures are very much dictated by the landscape he is painting – although his clever use of negative space encourages his use of black against light. Attracted to the popular tourist areas of London and New York his paintings remain uplifting and clean cut.

Frances  Sillué

Francesc Sillué paints the familiar. Obsessed with the everyday and seemingly mundane street scenes, he focuses on open-air markets, antique stands, flocks of pigeons on the cobbles and doll shop windows. He hopes to capture the moment for the viewer by savoring each and every detail in a barrage of delicate marks and colours.

Jonathon Simone

Anglo-Italian artist Joathon Simone lives in Bangkok where he finds no shortage of subjects for his exotic, ravishing paintings. "Art to me, is the creation of fantasy and illusion, a world to where one escapes form the never ending mediocrity of everyday existence", he writes. A self-taught painter who has travelled and lived all over the world, he decided to settle in Asia. "There, life seemed both ageless and timeless."

Jenni Sinclair

A painting contains magical and real truth and fictions. I am interested in depicting the unsaid, the elephant in the room, what lies beneath the veneer in the eternal drama and dynamics of family relationships. My work explores the general experiences of childhood, the formation of identity, the influences of beginnings, the inherent humour and pathos of our lives, memory, how we believe the myth of ourselves, and changing perceptions over time. For example, what lies beneath the surface of an informal family snapshot? What the photograph doesn’t say is what fascinates me - the ubiquitous school photograph has many untold truths. Photographs are an endless source of inspiration but only a starting point.

Adam Skidmore

Known to Brixton locals as "The Painter Man", Adam has been producing oil sketches in situ around Brixton for many years now. As well as being a talented portrait painter, he creates images drawn from the urban landscape which are colourful and atmospheric with a folk art quality. His work has a good sense of movement and a brooding saturated palette with accents of deep jewel-like hues colours which are evocative of early 20th century French Symbolist painters.

Steve Slimm

There is a productive tension in Slimm’s work between the representation of actual place and abstract expressionism. Delicate watercolours of solitary trees rub shoulders with large monumental vistas of standing stones and waterfalls. Cornwall is clearly a source of delight to Slimm and he appears to love to reflect the light in his work. Yet often rooting paintings in place also serves to spur his imagination leading to more dramatic gestural compositions.
