Nicole Teuliere

One of the most difficult questions facing any contemporary artist is how to combine the historical past of art with the desire to capture the modern. How does someone create a work which is timeless and contemporary? Ageless and youthful? ‘Outstanding for its skill, the work of Nicole Teulière-Ratti definitely recalls the work of “Tiffany Studio” and its famous glass marquetry. There are no flaws in the harmony of colours, and in the way she deals with the material.’ Hélène Rousé-Rivère, Art critic

Glen  Toner

For years Glen Toner worked physically as a plasterer's mate. In 2002, he decided to change his career, and went to Suffolk College to study Fine Art. He graduated in 2005 with a first class degree. You are one of the first who have got a chance to view his work. Glen is interested in painting people, especially the ones that seem unattractive and uninteresting. He uses dark paints thickly in order to give the paintings strength and physicality. His work is intense and carries lots of meaning that can be read from the titles but isn't there more to read from the faces?

Raul Tripa

Raul displays a provocative collection of portraits painted over the last four years, which range from extremely lifelike at one end to a morass of paint and surface texture at the other. Such examples bring to mind the work of Auerbach and Dubuffet, with their differing approaches to using texture. To dip, as Tripa does, in and out of resemblance, seems to present the viewer with many questions about the persistence and reliability of identity. How much we can know a person or how well? Maybe they hint at an inner essence that transcends superficial details of appearance?

Peter Truran

Measuring the success of each piece of work by his ability to create an image which looks effortless, Truran searches for, “…a Zen-like moment when there seems to be no distinction between the artist and the object of his creation.” Searching to produce paintings in oils which are born out of an unconscious act of creation, he uses brush; rag and finger to produce, he says, “...a feeling that the form emerges as a barely conscious dialogue between the marks on the surface and the artist.” Peter Truran was born in Cornwall and currently lives and works in Cardiff, Wales.

clair tuczemski

It is always fascinating to discover how self-taught artists make their ideas manifest, there is often a directness in their approach. Clair channels her creativity so that it flows into different avenues of expression including poetry, photography and jewellery design. Her painting "Blossom" sensitively traces the vein-like growth of a tree denuded of its blossom but surrounded by it like abeautiful hazy pink cloud.
