Arisa Tabaku

With a free and easy style, Arisa Tabaku's enjoyment of painting really comes across. The lyricism of her figurative works, especially "Girl Bathing" is further emphasised in abstracts such as "The Universe". Only an artist immersed in the creative process could so confidently produce such a clear work of sheer pleasure! In works such as these, one is reminded of the child-like wonder of artist Paul Klee. Her London-based paintings also benefit from that same energy. With their lilting brushwork, they describe the sights of this great capital with the artist's, colourful and quirky approach.

Eleanor Tallowin

It is fascinating to discover an artist whose working methods provoke thought and wonder. Eleanor is an architectural designer and encaustic artist who paints vibrant works inspired by the stark landscapes of Dartmoor. She says this of the fascinating encaustic technique: “I love working with the molten wax as every piece I create is spontaneous and unique, I can never replicate any painting as I am working with a liquid medium.”

David Taylor

David Taylor studied Architecture and Design at the London Design School. His career as an Architect led him to travel extensively, visiting many countries and diverse landscapes across the world. This experience had a powerful effect on him and initially inspired him to begin painting. Taylor uses his visual memory as his main point of reference. By manipulating the oil paint with palette knife and brush, he builds a sense of depth and atmosphere which reflects some of the dramatic weather conditions he so enjoys painting. Looking to Turner for inspiration he hopes to create, “an almost religious and mystic quality to his work.”

Annie Taylor

Annie is a landscape painter. Her previous images captured the beauty of Long Island where she had been living; now it is Dorset that attracts her with its unlimited views, varied lines and shapes. She works fast and passionately with whichever tool seems to be most suitable to express a moment in time. Then, she often re-works a piece adding texture and colour until she feels a painting is complete. Her works are painted over the edges and therefore extend nearly to the surface of the wall.

Peri Taylor

Peri Taylor's vibrant watercolours are created by wet-on-wet watercolour painting. Wet on wet also known as wet-in-wet, is a painting technique in which layers of wet paint are applied to previous layers of wet paint. This technique requires a fast way of working, because the art work has to be finished before the first layers have dried. "I love the challenge of painting a model, working wet on wet with watercolour and ink. I enjoy mixing the flesh tones from two colours to give a subtle effect." say's Taylor. The history of the technique goes right back to the origins of oil painting, and was used by several of the early Netherlandish painters. Taylor who finds her inspiration in the places she visits, colour and light, often travels from her base in Bristol, UK to find her inspiration. "I love Italy, especially poppy time at the end of May beginning of June, in Umbria and Tuscany." she says, adding, "Although poppies are such delicate flowers they give such a splash of colour in the fields."
