danita cole

Danita Cole is a painter’s painter. Heavily influenced by landscape she specializes in encaustic painting – an ancient technique also known as hot wax painting, which involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid/ paste is then applied to a surface, usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used, to produce a richly textured finish. Danita currently lives on a 35ft sailing boat which is currently moored in Charleston harbour - so it isn’t hard to see why her paintings predominantly reflect the ocean. "There's nothing quite like the feeling of freedom one gets from living on a boat; not just from the physical freedom of being able to pick up and go, but also from the spiritual freedom that facing ones own mortality provides”. Danita has traveled extensively throughout her life and draws inspiration for her paintings from Mother Nature.

Annalisa Colombara

These tasteful creations show that the artist has a wonderful eye for detail and fantastic painterly hand. Using a tasteful minimalism Colombara selects just the right details to highlight in order to bring her canvasses to life. Light and airy with a skilful touch, these are works that resonate with a delicate light and subtle suggestion of form. The energy and movement within these paintings is truly astounding considering the restraint of the details. A truly gifted watercolour painter, Annalisa is a welcome addition to the LondonArt family.

Peter Colquhoun

Peter Colquhoun is an artist of extreme versatility and excellent professional standing. Residing in New York, he has received numerous prestigious grants and has exhibited widely across the United States and Europe. Equally adept at capturing landscape, cityscape, still life or domestic interiors, he paints in oils with a sure knowledge of perpective and light. The still lives are constructed in a way which seem to expose the clear underlying geometry of things.

Patricia Colyer

Almost defying words, these are landscapes of the utmost delicacy and subtletly that testify to the best kind of artistic visual intelligence. They are surely of the same order as Derek Jarman's vision of Dungeness. Sometimes adding bitumen, varnish or gloss paint to her oils to be able to create the kind of texture she seeks, Patricia's work has an underplayed humility yet her vision is powerful and stark. Her rendering of 'textual reed-beds and salt-marsh estuaries' combined with her poetic titles are highly evocative of the East Anglian landscape.

Andy Cook

Cook’s paintings emerge on the canvas in an emotional outpouring. Starting with a vague sketch made from memory Smith allows the painting to evolve. There is a certain amount of automatic painting which can produce work of spontaneity and freedom, but also risks losing the painting altogether.

john paul cooke

Abstract expressionist painter John Paul Cooke works in both acrylics and oils on board or canvas. His considered choice of colour and tone creates works which play with solidity and lightness but which often seem to refer to landscape. They seem to involve repainting and covering up to leave key "incidents" or marks which have dramatic visual impact. Much is made of scumbling dry paint to produce a textured painting by a process of accretion.

Anthony Coppard

Mixed media work offers much to the viewer as it also animates the surface of the picture. Anthony Coppard, unusually, employs inks, clay and resin to create his highly considered compositions. As well as landscapes and still life, he tackles the more serious themes of war and peace, especially post- 9,11. Anthony has innovatively worked to develop the textural aspects of his work in response to community work with a local special educational needs school.

Patrick Cornee

Patrick Cornée was born in Toulouse in 1962. A self taught artist Cornée lives in Mougins, a small village just North of Cannes, France. Inspired by a specific approach to making art, Patrick combines his love for his surrounding landscape with a technique called 'Automatic Drawing. Pioneered by André Masson, automatic drawing was developed by the surrealists, as a means of expressing the subconscious. In applying an element of chance and accident to mark-making, his work is to a large extent freed of rational thought. "I work with graphic arts, volume and nuances of colours; I would say that this symphony creates a poetic and lyric transfiguration." he says. Exhibiting his work across the World including, Japan, Britain, France, USA, Cornée's work is in many private collections.
