After travelling extensively Maria Lavrova finds particular inspiration from Peru and Ecuador where she studied the healing practices used by the Incas. A Russian born artist Lavrova is a medium and is a Reiki practitioner (Attunement Level II certificate). Her work hopes to reflect the, “pure energies of Mother nature and the beauty of the sacred in human life”, and in doing so seeks to enrich the view and soothe the mind. Maria Lavrova studied Fine Art in Russia and has recently completed a course at Hampstead School of Art, London. Darko Alexander's exhibition reflects four years of intense documentation. This series of works, entitled, London Streets, uses photography to capture the lesser known areas of London. Hu Li is a Chinese artist now living and working in Melbourne, Australia. After graduating in Fine Art Painting from the Xi'an Fine Art University in 1989, he went on to specialize in traditional Chinese painting and is now the Director of the Traditional Chinese Culture & Art Research Institute of Xi'an Foreign Languages University. “I paint and draw in an attempt to interpret a view, a feeling or a memory of an event.”says Mei Yim Low, adding, “Much of my recent paintings are inspired by travel and the exhilaration of experiencing spectacular and unfamiliar landscape. When painting on location, the act of intense, silent observation provides greater opportunity to absorb the experience of time and place.” Low graduated with a Degree in Graphic Design from Kingston University in 1977. She subsequently worked as a children’s book Illustrator before dividing her time between teaching and painting. Her work has been published by Walker Books, Heinemann, Methuen, Blackie, BBC Enterprises, Oxford University Press and Ginn.
