John Mitchell

John Mitchell's paintings are mainly figurative, reflecting his concerns through the relationships between figures in their environment. Chance and intuition are essential to composition and the choice of images from his own drawings and photographs and media sources. This allows barely glimpsed elements to emerge, which in turn may affect the responses of the viewer. He also paints portraits, some of which are commissioned.

Emma Moir

Emma Moir's paintwork is made up of thick impasto and dramatic contrasts of light and dark. Mostly landscape, her subjects stretch from the Cornwall coast to the River Thames. Those informed by real - life places tend towards the monochromatic with slight stainings of colour in an approach akin to that of Whistler. Also Turner's work might be seen as being invoked although the paint application tends to be a lot harsher and applied with a palette knife and colours are more acid: an altogether more contemporary effect. This artist's strong, vigorous gestural style is truly an appeal to the senses.

louise morgan

It is the use of palette knife and coarse haired brushes that endow these paintings with sheer dynamism. The painter's desire to cover the space with movement also renders the whole surface with a tremendous sense of pattern. Often produced in the open air, there is a story to these works, of heroism against the elements, amidst the rugged terrain of the Welsh Mountains. Works such as "The freedom of childhood" and "Sailing into the Light" are evidence that Morgan draws great inspiration from the kinetic in her pictorial compositions.
